Miss World SA 2023 - Top 5
At Ngunii Creatives, we were honored to partner with the inspiring Asande Mchunu, a finalist for Miss World South Africa, to bring her impactful "Her Story" campaign to life.
This initiative, developed as part of her Beauty with a Purpose journey, was aimed at:
Raising awareness about the impact of HIV on adolescent girls and young women (AGYW).
Highlighting prevention and management solutions for HIV and teenage pregnancy.
Breaking the stigma surrounding HIV and dismantling discrimination.
Asande’s personal story fueled this campaign’s authenticity and power. Growing up in Kwa-Mashu, she witnessed the devastating effects of HIV on her community and how it hindered the progress of young women. Inspired by her late grandmother’s work in the HIV advocacy space, Asande sought to create a platform that amplified the voices of those affected, celebrated their resilience, and educated others on stigma-free prevention and sexual health.
Ngunii Creatives worked closely with Asande to shape the campaign by:
Developing a compelling creative strategy to connect with diverse audiences.
Producing high-quality visual content, including videos, graphics, and storytelling visuals.
Designing and executing a dynamic social media strategy to maximize engagement.
Curating and amplifying real-life stories of young women who have overcome the challenges of living with HIV or teenage pregnancy to achieve success.
The campaign successfully raised awareness and sparked important conversations, with the community embracing its message of empowerment and destigmatization. By showcasing real stories of strength and triumph, "Her Story" inspired action, compassion, and hope across South Africa and beyond.
